Release Energetic baggage to revitalize your Life & space!

This is a two-for-one! Rid yourself of the Energetic baggage that’s holding you back from being your vibrant Self

As you accumulate things, you also accumulate the Energy of those things. Practicing some basic Feng Shui and some light organization will help you clear the clutter in your space, refocus your Mind and mental Energies, and transmute the Energy in your home.

In our capitalistic society with free and expedited shipping and round the clock sales, it is so easy to accumulate more than you need. In fact, it’s safe to say you even accumulate things you don’t actually want – just because they are available.

What you may fail to realize is that each item you bring into your space comes with its own Energy, which then interacts with your Energy and the Energy in your space.

Where it all begins

Take, for example, the foods you eat. Even the most processed foods carry Energetic vibration based on its own lifetime.

It all starts with soil. Good soil that is fertile, hydrated, and mindfully cared for will carry a higher vibration. Any foods that are grown in that soil will look healthier, taste better, and also carry on that higher vibrational Energy.

When the farmed goods are harvested with care, cleaned, separated, processed, packaged, and shipped – all with heart and good intention – the plants continue to vibrate at a higher frequency. This high frequency Energy is then carried into the grocery store where you will shop for your goods.

At every step of the process, it is crucial for each individual who interacts with the goods to also be aligned with their work and with their products. When you pluck that bag of high vibe carrots off your market shelf, you are another cog in the Energetic lifestyle of those carrots.

They will, in turn, feed your cells with a higher, more concentrated nutrient density. They will nourish your body and Soul as you partake in their goodness. And your body will willingly accept the high Energy frequency of those carrots and raise your own vibration.

Feeling good about yourself and your Life, and in your own body, will affect everything you touch and every person you encounter. It is a domino effect that starts with growing plants in healthy, fertile soil that is cared for with love, heart, and good intention.

Along those lines, think about every item you can see in your surroundings at this moment. Where were those products made? Who are the factory workers that helped to assemble them? Were they created to help someone get rich, or because there is a genuine need to help others with these items? What were your intentions for accumulating these products? Were they things you desired? Things you had a need for? Was the money you used on credit or did it come from your paycheck, which you worked really hard for?

Each of these aspects will affect the vibrational frequency of the items you keep in your surroundings, which, in turn, will affect the Energy in your space. The Energy in your space will always be in interaction with your own Energy body.

If you consider yourself someone who cares for Self by cleansing, cultivating, and restoring healthy Energetic boundaries, then it’s time to take it one step further by looking into what you keep in close proximity.

How to move forward

So, now you look around and realize you have so much stuff that you are not attached to in any way and it is bringing down the Energy of your space. You want to clear the space and cultivate a new, Light Energy – but how? Where to start?

Develop a basic understanding of Feng Shui to help you in your space clearing.

Look at any item in your space and ask yourself whether it aligns with who you are or who you are trying to become. Consider how you feel when you are in the same space as this object, while touching or holding it. Does it bring you joy? Is it sentimental? Does it serve a purpose in your space?

Once you’ve answered these questions honestly, then you can apply the principles of Feng Shui to help you further narrow down what stays and what goes.

Feng Shui relies on the concept of Yin and Yang. Yin and Yang are polar Energies that exist in all things. They represent the feminine (yin) and masculine (yang), and their interaction influences the destinies of all things.

Yin Energy is characterized by coldness, rest, responsiveness, shadow, inwardness, interior, and downward and decreasing motion.

Yang Energy is characterized by stimulation, heat, movement, activity, vigor, illumination, exterior, upward and outward motion, and increase.

Every person, and every item in your space, is characterized by these two polar Energies. And the key to remaining in harmony in your own Life is to keep them in balance.

Because Yin and Yang Energies mutually depend on one another, they cannot be separated. Without Yin, you cannot define or identify Yang, and vice versa. Additionally, they control one another. If Yang is too excessive in any product, good, or person, then Yin will be too weak.

Yin and Yang Energies are on a spectrum where things are relative to one another. As the spectrum becomes tilted to one side or another, the Energies can either be in harmony or disharmonious.

Space clearing

Utilizing Feng Shui and a basic understanding of Yin and Yang Energies will help you to clear your space of any items that are creating Energetic disharmony. This disharmony can permeate you physically, emotionally, mentally, Spiritually, and of course, Energetically.

As you begin to clear your space and rid yourself of the Energetic baggage you are carrying around, you will find yourself feeling lighter. You will have a sense of openness and expanse within you that will allow you to take on your day-to-day problems with ease and confidence. Consider it the breaking free from shackles you didn’t even know you were wearing.

As time and space allows, practice Feng Shui and implement Yin and Yang principles to every space you are in: your office or cubicle, bedroom, refrigerator, freezer, pantry, hall closets, garage, attic, basement, dresser drawers, with your body care products, jewelry, accessories, handbags, shoes, or any other spaces you keep personal items.

The surprising truth about metabolism

Unlock the secret to enhancing your metabolism so you can increase in energy and feel good in your body.

The New Year is quickly approaching and the media is beginning to push weight loss resolutions down our throats. Keep yourself and your goals in check with these surprising truths about metabolism.

The body was beautifully designed – it works like a well-oiled machine; it heals and repairs itself if given the chance; it communicates with itself millions of times each day; and it has multiple energetic systems that work synergistically with one another to keep you alive.

All things are energy. You know this or you wouldn’t be here.

Think of all the energetic systems that are spinning and working each and every day to help keep you alive.

The energetic rhythm of the heart beat and its electro magnetic field can be scientifically detected some three to eight feet from the body; the energetic rhythm of the brain and its electro magnetic field that communicates with the heart and gut microbiome to keep you healthy; the gut microbiome itself and its function in digestion and nutrient assimilation, which is basically the center for all physical health maintenance and Healing.

The surprising truth about metabolism

The digestion and metabolism of food and nutrients is the outcome of the energetic system at work in your stomach and gut. Have you ever wondered what guides these systems? 🤔 The Sun and Moon, of course! In the case of metabolism, we will be focusing on the role of the Sun.

It is no coincidence that the third chakra is called the Solar Plexus. It is smack dab in the middle of your belly, right near your stomach and some of your digestive organs, and its color is yellow.

As the Sun rises and sets throughout the day in a rhythmic cycle, so too does your metabolism. When you wake in the morning, your metabolism is ready to be fired up with a small, well balanced meal to break your long overnight fast. You don’t need to have a full meal, but you should eat something (having a freshly juiced drink or smoothie counts!).

By midday, when the Sun is at its height and shining with all of its power and glory, so too is your metabolism. Lunch time is the perfect time of day to indulge in a big, hearty meal. It should be your main meal of the day and will power you through the afternoon until dinner time.

Your metabolism is working at peak efficiency during this time so it’s ready to receive and burn through whatever you ingest. Be sure to make smart choices about eating foods that are Energy-giving and not Life-draining.

As the Sun slowly makes its descent and winds down for the evening, your metabolism will also be following suit. Dinner time is when your metabolism will be functioning more slowly. Avoid having too much protein during these hours because they are hard to digest and could disrupt your sleep for the night.

The saying goes, Eat Breakfast like a Prince, Lunch like a King, and Dinner like a Pauper, and there is a perfectly good reason for that!

All in all, these meal times are opportunities to tune in and listen to your body, to learn its specific and personal cues, and to begin decoding its messages. This is where Healing begins!

Fall back in love with eating by increasing in Body Wisdom

Learn how to rely on your body’s unique signals to help you navigate your health.

Collectively, we have fallen out of love with eating. The confusing messages and unrealistic beauty standards have set us way back and food has become a means to an end. It’s high time we go back to basics when it comes to health and weight. Read on for some essential pointers to get you back in touch with your inner wisdom so you can ditch the diet plans and fall back in love with eating.

Unfortunately, our society is fixated on outer appearance – height, weight, stature, pants size – and we have become people who no longer know how to let the body be our guide.

The body was beautifully designed – it works like a well-oiled machine; it heals and repairs itself if given the chance; it communicates with itself millions of times each day to keep you alive.

That being said, don’t you think it’s possible for the body to know what it wants and needs from you? That’s a resounding YES!

The body sends you messages all throughout the day. You feel pain to alert you that something is wrong, sleepy to let you know that it’s time to shut down and give your Mind and body time to rest and repair, and hunger when you are in need of sustenance and nourishment.

But sometimes the messages become confused. They get lost in translation while being filtered through the brain. Hunger is the perfect example of this, and you are not alone if ever you have confused your hunger signals.

What is your body trying to tell you?

It is not uncommon to feel hunger at random times throughout your day, or to have cravings – sometimes very specific cravings – at distinct times. Sometimes these hunger spells and cravings will ebb and flow depending on the moon phase or what you’ve eaten that day. Other times, they show up like regular unannounced guests.

Regardless, the message your body is sending you in times of hunger is almost always not the same message you consciously receive.

A common example is to desire something sweet after eating. A little something to finish off the meal and shut down your appetite. The message comes through in the form of a craving for sugary sweetness, which you might satisfy with dessert, candy, or maybe a piece of gum.

Would you consider the fact that your body is actually asking for more nutrient dense foods when you receive a craving for sweets? It’s true! The body always asks for what it needs, but, because we are human, we confuse the signals and dive head first into a pint of ice cream.

Ready for another? When you have a craving for fried foods, your body is actually asking for healthy fats – Omega 3s, essential fatty acids, they go by many names. When you can’t wait to bite into a juicy steak, you are likely low on protein or possibly heme iron.

The same is true for feelings of hunger that quickly follow a hearty snack or meal. If you are feeling hungry but know that your stomach hasn’t yet emptied, your body might be trying to tell you to drink up. Thirst is often confused for hunger.

In the same scenario, your brain might have missed the memo that you’ve consumed a snack or meal due to eating too quickly. It is calling for more food so it can check off its internal list of sensory stimuli that accompanies every meal.

Learning to decode your body’s specific messages, and practicing eating with awareness as often as possible, will transform your relationship to food beyond measure.

Essentials to keep in mind

If you are looking to heal your relationship to food, body, or weight, this is where the gold really is. You will want to read, and store, these tips for your next snack or mealtime.

  1. Write things down. Make a note of your sensations throughout the day, both before and after eating. Over time you will begin to notice patterns that are associated, and you can use them to understand your body’s unique signals.
  2. Show your food some love. Begin paying attention to your meal as if it were a guest at your table. Notice the tastes, textures, colors, and sensations in every bite. You will find yourself more satiated and with fewer post-meal cravings as you practice this one step.
  3. Slow down and take a deep breath. Literally! Deep breathing before and during a meal will help to increase oxygen to your digestive system, and also put you in a more relaxed state. If you are eating from a more present and relaxed place, your body will thank you with smoother digestion and more energy.

These are some big, but very effective, pointers. Choose one and begin practicing it regularly. Once you begin to feel like you are getting the hang of it, pick up another. Over time you will be able to check in with your body and know exactly what it wants from you.

Here’s to happy eating, my friend! Go on, and be well.

8 Ways to wake up every morning without coffee

waking up is hard to do 🎶 here are 8 natural ways to wake up without caffeine.

Don’t get me wrong, I actually love coffee and enjoy it for the flavor and experience of warming comfort. But what I don’t love is feeling like a slave to the instant energy boost. I like to take control of my mornings by feeling like I can begin my day any which way I desire, without the repercussions of caffeine withdrawals.

If this sounds like you, or something you’re interested in incorporating into your morning, read on!

waking up is hard to do 🎶 here are 8 natural ways to wake up without caffeine.

While there are many, many options to help you rise with the Sun bright eyed and bushy tailed, I am outlining a few of my favorites here. Use them as directed, or as a guide to figuring out what works for you and your lifestyle.

This is the beginning of a new beginning, my friend! Enjoy the process of Healing and learning more about yourself and what feels good to you.

Food Related Solutions

1. Drink waterRoom temperature water will run right through your entire system and flush out all of the junk that your body flushed out while you were sleeping. Because it is a rush of the good stuff, it will perk you (and your nervous system) right up! BONUS – put 1 drop of this in your water to boost metabolism, curb cravings, and manage hunger. Give it a couple of minutes to settle before drinking.

2. Have this immunity-boosting elixir 8oz of warm-to-hot water + 1-2 drops of lemon + 1 drop of gingerorganic honey, to taste. There are so many dimensions of healing in this one drink. Having it one to three times daily (depending on your need for healing) will surely do the job! As you repair on a cellular level, you will naturally increase in energy.

3. Clear your brain fog– 8oz of warm-to-hot water + 1 tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar + organic honey, to taste. Flush toxins, reduce inflammation, and heal and fortify your gut microbiome with just one tablespoon each day. As you reduce inflammation (linked to dementia and Alzheimer’s disease), you clear the mental fog that comes from late nights and poor sleep. BONUS – add 1 tablespoon Aloe Vera juice for an added boost. It will balance the pH of your GI tract, aid in digestion, and increase with detoxification.

4. Green Tea – I realize this sounds counterintuitive because we are trying to get off of the caffeine bandwagon here, but hear me out. The caffeine in Green tea is one of the only sources of natural caffeine that does not affect your nervous system. Read this as, you will feel a natural enhancement in energy without the jitters, crash, or the stress-loop that other caffeinated drinks cause. If you are still iffy about the caffeine in Green tea, consider Rooibos Green tea, which has all of the benefits of regular Green tea without the caffeine.

5. Energizing Morning Smoothie – 2 apples + 2 pears + small piece of ginger root + water, non-dairy milk, or other liquid. This smoothie will perk up your whole system, boost metabolism, and wake up your senses! For added benefits, throw in some greens.

Non-Food Related Solutions

6. Energizing Morning Stretches – Wake up your body with energizing morning stretches. It is best to do these as soon as you rise from bed, so plan to set your alarm 5-7 minutes earlier. Stretching toward the sun will invite light and renewal into your body. Also, planting your feet firmly into the ground will help with grounding throughout your day. Supplement with this for a pick-me-up throughout your busy day.

7. Stream of Consciousness – You’ll find this golden nugget tucked under “journaling”, “meditation”, or even “morning pages”. Stream of Consciousness journaling is a practice of, literally, emptying your thoughts onto the page without concern for grammar, spelling, format, or other distractions. Just let it all out, Sister! Instant stress booster, mood uplifter, and energy enhancer!

8. Make a List – Any list – be creative! This will help in organizing your thoughts (and your day), and will give you an instant boost in energy, confidence, and productivity. Here are some ideas to get you started: * 3 small goals and 1 large goal you would like to accomplish that day * 3 things you are grateful for (be creative, even the littlest things count!) * 3 things that inspire you * 3 things you like about yourself

5 things you’re probably not doing that can dramatically improve your health

If you are here and reading this, then it’s safe to assume you care about your health. I would gander that you are interested in living a Life without pain, sickness, and disease, and so you read and research best practices for Healing and preventative care.

Am I right?

If so, then you will definitely want to consider these five practices that should be included in your Self-care regimen.

These things are not opinion based; they are simply science-based facts that, individually, are really good for you. Combine them with a healthy attitude, the right foods for your body, and a conscientious lifestyle, and you are on your way to good health, my friend!

You’re probably deficient in Vitamin D

Vitamin D has been considered a hormone in recent science, because it is crucial for so many processes in the body. Immunity, bone density, mental clarity, and more, this vitamin is chronically low for some 85% or more of the American population. Getting outside for your Vitamin D is just not enough anymore. See your physician about getting a blood test to determine your recommended dosage for supplementation. This is the brand that I use, love, and recommend, because all you need is one flavorless drop each day!

You are likely eating too fast

When you eat too quickly you set yourself up for a whole host of problems. Top of the list is gas, bloating, and prolonged fullness; second to those are over eating, binge eating, and food coma. If you are eating Organic and you eat too fast, you’re just throwing money out the window. Your food will never be broken down enough to be easily digested or nutritionally absorbed. Begin implementing these four steps to help you slow down while eating.

You might be eating too much protein

Unless you are hard core strength training or trying to build loads of muscle to bulk up, then you are likely eating too much protein. Not only are many proteins difficult to digest, but they trigger new cell growth (in order to increase in muscle mass). When you have expedited cell growth and are not utilizing the muscles in a strengthening workout, then you put yourself at risk for cancer growth. Begin by taking in more plant and grain proteins and recognizing when you’ve had enough by learning your body’s unique signals.

You are probably not putting your electronics on airplane mode while you sleep

We live in a fast-paced world right now where, in some cases, it’s essential to remain connected. However, as you carry or wear your electronics throughout the day, you are taking in small amounts of radiation that might be damaging to your body and energetic field. When you sleep, carry out a small act of love toward yourself by putting your electronics on airplane mode. This will help with quality of sleep, it will leave your alpha waves undisturbed, and will leave you feeling refreshed upon waking.

#HealthHacks that are the keys to good health

You might not be drinking enough water

There is no exact formula for how much water you should be drinking, despite what you’ll find on the internet. The amount of water you need depends solely on you, and can be adjusted based on how much water you take in from fresh fruits and vegetables, and other water-containing foods. However, the general rule of thumb is that every time you use the bathroom you should be taking a sip of water. This will help with cleansing the toxins and inflammation from your cells, as well as keeping your bladder and kidney in top health. It’s also good for appetite and weight loss, an added bonus!

Intermittent Fasting is sabotaging your weight. Here’s how to make it work for you.

If you’re in the US, I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving last week. I want you to know that I’m thankful for you and your presence in my little, tight-knit community of people who want to improve their health.

While the Holiday Season may look different this year, I have no doubt that one thing that will remain unchanged is the loads of food that will bring people together. Because of this, it’s around this time of year that most people begin thinking of New Year resolutions or goals.

New Year, New Me” is probably the most popular resolution. With intentions on weight loss, healthier eating, and self-improvements, the internet will soon be flooded with searches for diets, quick fixes, and home-based workout programs.

Allow me to share some startling facts with you:

Within two weeks, nearly a quarter of those resolutions are broken.

Within three weeks, about a third, and by the one month mark nearly half of all New Year resolutions are broken.

Why, you might ask, is it so difficult to keep a simple goal? If you love yourself enough, desire to be healthy, and take pretty good care of yourself, why is that not enough to stick to your resolution?

The answer: your approach is all wrong

If you’ve been following my work long enough, you know that I teach about approaching health, weight loss, and self-improvement from a much different perspective than anything you’ll find through a Google search.

I want to do just that when it comes to intermittent fasting, because I believe this is a great tool for beginning your Journey towards health.

And there’s no better time than now to learn this valuable information so you can begin to implement it in 2021!

If you’ve never heard of, or tried, intermittent fasting (IF), it’s an approach to weight loss that cycles between periods of fasting and periods of eating. It isn’t a diet, per se, but rather an eating pattern – a timed approach.

The most common cycle for IF is 16:8, where you fast for 16 hours each day, and consume all of your daily calories and nutrients within an 8 hour window of time.

This is a great approach to heath, vitality, and weight loss. I have no qualms with intermittent fasting. However, I do believe that people are doing it wrong and that’s why it’s not sustainable or helpful in the long run.

Here’s my recommended approach to successfully fast intermittently:

Start your day early with breakfast and begin your fast earlier in the evening rather than later at night.

It’s that simple!

The mistake people are making is that they’re rising as early as 6 am and not having breakfast until 10 or 11 am. This gives them an eating window from 10 am to 6 pm, or 11 am to 7 pm. Pretty reasonable, if you ask me.

However, because your metabolism cycles with the sun, what’s happening between 6 and 10 am is that your body believes food is scarce. It will automatically shut down crucial processes as it shifts into starvation mode.

Starvation mode is very real and very detrimental to your health! In starvation mode your hormones are in flux, metabolism and digestion are slowed, muscle and tissue repair are totally halted, and everything you eat is stored as fat. These divinely designed processes are meant to prolong your life in the event that you are actually starving.

So, here’s what I recommend.

When you wake up, break your fast with protein and healthy fats. These will keep you fuller for  longer and reduce snacking and cravings throughout the day. A great example is eggs, maybe avocado toast if that’s your thang, or some oatmeal with nut butter and flax or chia seeds. I recommend having breakfast between 5 and 7 am depending on your geography.

By lunch time your metabolism is at its peak just as the sun is at its highest point in the sky. The ideal time for lunch is between 12 and 1:30 pm. Pretty much anything you eat at lunch you will burn before the end of the day, so don’t skimp out with a tiny salad or protein bar. You’ll want this to be your heartiest meal of the day.

Once again, what you include in this meal will determine snacking, cravings, or crashing in the second half of your day. Choose foods that will be life-giving rather than energy-draining.

At dinner time you’ll want to avoid consuming too much protein because it is hard on your stomach and has been linked to poor sleep. What happens is that it takes longer than the typical one to four hours for your stomach to empty because protein takes longer to break down and digest.

Depending on when your eating window ends, try to finish your last meal at least four hours before going to bed. I recommend eating between 5 and 7 pm, just as the sun is setting.

If you follow these guidelines while experimenting with IF, I know that you’ll feel better, have more energy, and find more success with this phenomenal approach to eating.

I’d love to hear your thoughts, experiences, and questions about IF and more! Comment below with your questions or to share your experience.

5 big mistakes you’re making that are sabotaging your weight

Eating for Energy & Weight Loss FREE PDF

5 biggies that are sabotaging your weight. And they have nothing to do with what, or even how much, you’re eating.

It is common practice for medical professionals, nutritionists, and even dietitians, to tell their patients that their problem with weight is really a problem with food or will power. However, you’ll find that it’s not always about what you eat. Sometimes, your eating behaviors are as much, or more, the culprit around weight as anything else.

I know, you’re probably thinking I’m insane for writing this.

But I’ve become so passionate about this concept over the years because I see so many people struggle with their weight, body image, and relationship to food. I want everyone to know that losing weight and feeling healthy can be simple and stress free, with the right tools, of course!

I want to preface that losing weight the right way does not require pills, diets, special recipes with fancy ingredients, or even a gym pass.

It does, however, require time and awareness.

That, my friend, is my goal. To show you that by becoming a little more mindful of

H O W  you’re eating, you can still eat what you love without sacrifice.

Sounds appetizing, doesn’t it?

Well, read on to see 5 big mistakes you’re making that are keeping you from losing those extra pounds.

Mistake #1: You feel like you need to restrict or change what you’re eating to look better

Wrong and wrong.

Calorie restriction will only leave you feeling hungry all the time. This can lead to obsessive thoughts about food, poor muscle tone, and weight loss resistance. Your body, literally, thinks it’s on a deserted island when you calorie restrict.

Why use valuable resources to burn calories or build muscle when you need those resources to survive?

And let’s talk about changing your diet. Sure, eating healthier will help you to look and feel healthier. But if you’re consuming with poor habits, then changing what you eat is not going to help you.

Read on to see what I mean.

Mistake #2:  You’re eating too quickly

For some of us, Covid couldn’t keep us in a slower pace of Life because we had to resume working, schooling, parenting, or otherwise.

I’m hearing more and more from parents and professionals that, because of their new schedules and routines, eating is even less of a priority.

Maybe you’re juggling virtual schooling with working from home. Maybe virtual schooling itself is what’s eating up all of your time.

Regardless, as a culture, we are spending less time eating, and suffering more from the repercussions of a fast diet.

If you experience

  • gas
  • bloating
  • poor elimination
  • prolonged feelings of fullness
  • a need for ‘something more’ to complete your meal
  • and are struggling to lose weight

take a moment to time your next meal. If it’s under 20 minutes, it’s too fast.

Mistake #3:  You’re biting off more than you can chew

One of the many culprits that are keeping you drained of energy, feeling heavy, and weight loss resistant is not thoroughly chewing your food.

I get it; when time is short the goal is to shovel the food into your mouth and get it down as quickly as possible. This will lead me into my next point, but hear me out first.

One of the keys to slowing down and harnessing your natural energy without additives or caffein is to take smaller bites.

What’s happening is that when you take large bites, your tongue naturally moves food towards the back of the throat to make room for chewing the remainder of the bite. This leads to the natural response of swallowing.

The problem is that most of the food that you just swallowed was not chewed thoroughly enough for proper digestion to occur.

This leads to less vital energy because now your stomach has to work hard to break down the food for digestion.

It also causes poor nutrient absorption. The food particles broken down by stomach acids are nowhere near the scale they’d be had you chewed them. So they pass straight through the intestines and stress out the colon.

Read this as loose stools or constipation. If either of these is a problem for you, consider the size of your bites.

Mistake #4: You think of food as fuel for your body

It’s true. Your mindset about food has a whole lot to do with how your body responds to what you’re eating.

When you think of food simply as fuel for your body, you remove the elements of pleasure and celebration that should be part of every meal. These are highly tied to metabolism.

You also fail to consider food as nourishment.

I don’t mean chock-full of vitamins. I mean nourishing to you on a Soul level. The same way a long walk after a tough day can be nourishing, or an evening out with a good friend.

This is a biggie and something so many of us are unaware of! The diet and fitness industries push into our minds that food = fuel as a way to get you to prescribe to their formulas and to keep you buying their products.

Don’t be fooled just because they’re loud. They don’t have your best interest at heart unless it’ll bring them loads of money.

Change what you think about how you’re eating to go further and see lasting results in your health.

Our mindset is directly linked to our bodily responses in every capacity. Still unsure about what I mean? Take a moment to feel your pulse or heart beat. Now think about your worst possible fear. Did you notice a difference in your heart rate? What about your muscle tension? Anxiety? Stress level?

I’ve made my point clear on this one. So let’s move on to the final mistake you’re making that’s sabotaging your weight.

Mistake #5:  You’re not celebrating every meal

Have you ever wondered why so many Europeans, with their buttery pastries, freshly made pastas, cheeses, and wine, have fewer medical episodes and remain thinner than we are here in America?

It’s because they celebrate every meal!

People from all over Europe celebrate their meals in different ways; some take a siesta so they can enjoy a well-prepared meal at home. Others spend two hours each day eating with company they enjoy, laughing and talking. They consider the action of eating part of their Self-care routine.

Eating is an act of celebration and not just something that needs to happen to survive. The body responds in equal amounts of celebration by returning to you good health.

They are, literally, taking in all of the healthy fats from those butters and cheeses, absorbing all of the vital nutrients from the Semolina flour the pasta is made from, and receiving the benefits of the antioxidants in the wine they drink.

We could surely learn something valuable from their example!

Well, this was a pretty loaded post.

If you’ve made it this far, thank you for sticking around. This tells me that something I said resonates with you. Join me for more, just like this, and check out my podcast for quick and easy listening!

3 toxic myths you believe about weight loss

You, too, can be glamorous and graceful with any body shape

Raise your hand if you’ve spent more than 1-week of your life dieting or trying to lose weight 🙋🏻

I don’t know about you, but I’ve definitely devoted years of mental real estate, hours at the gym or running outdoors, and tons of time on apps like SparkPeople just to drop into my “ideal” weight range.

Have I been successful? Sure, at times.

Other times, though, I’ve felt hungry, irritable and exhausted, all without losing a single pound and sometimes even gaining weight.

I bet you can relate on some level to my experience.

It wasn’t until my intensive training in Eating Psychology & Mind Body Nutrition that I realized I had it all wrong.

These two powerful approaches have completely transformed the way I think about food, my body, and especially my weight.

I no longer feel like I need to be on the “right” diet to lose or maintain my weight. And I fully understand why the thousands of miles I’ve jogged in the last 10+ years hasn’t changed the shape or state of my body by very much.

I now get it that feeling satiated, satisfied, and comfortable in my body has as much, or more, to do with  H O W  I eat, and less to do with  W H A T  I eat.

What about you? What are you struggling with when it comes to food, body, and weight? (comment below and let me know).

Maybe you eat when you’re stressed. It’s possible you weigh yourself daily, or get really down on yourself for eating too much of a “no-no” food.

Whatever the case may be, you no longer need to feel trapped inside of your own body, a body that may not feel safe or desirable to you.

My relationship with my body is constantly evolving because my approach to dieting is changing.

You can feel amazing in the skin you’re in, at any size or in any condition, if you’re willing to tune out what the diet industry is pushing onto you.

I’d like to help you start by busting these 3 toxic myths the diet industry wants you to believe.

Believing in these myths is problematic because they will hold you back from taking the right actions to reclaim your health.

In my personalized work with clients, I’ve seen one breakthrough after another when people begin to transform what they think and believe about dieting.

So, here they are!

Myth #1:

The only way to lose weight is to calculate calories in vs. calories out

This is an incredibly outdated view of health and weight loss. The diet and fitness industries want you to believe that under-eating and over-exercise are solutions for weight, but they’re not.

#TruthBomb

Under-eating actually leads to weight gain, as the body actually begins to think it’s on a desert island. It triggers a surplus of fat storage and shuts down essential processes like nutrient absorption and digestion.

Couple this with over-exercise and you’re bound to feel fatigued, irritable, and pretty frustrated that you’re not toning up or losing weight.

This is a trap that keeps you chasing one diet after another. It leads to best selling books, ever increasing gym membership fees, and keeps you believing that you’re doing something wrong (or that there is something wrong with you).

Myth #2:

It’s OK to have “cheat days” or to “fall off the wagon”

#TruthBomb

The truth is, you should be allowed to eat what makes you feel good – any time – and without guilt.

Food is neither inherently “good” or “bad”. We can label foods by how they make us feel either physically or emotionally, but that doesn’t make them good or bad.

So, having “cheat days” or “falling off the wagon” implies that 1. you’ve done something wrong, which will illicit feelings of guilt, shame, and lead to a downward negative spiral; and 2. sends the message that desirable foods are not to be enjoyed.

Learning how to find pleasure in the foods that make you feel good will trickle into allowing yourself to experience pleasure when you eat the foods that might not be so good for you but are so fun to eat! 🍕🍞🍪

Myth #3

You just haven’t found the right diet for your body yet

#TruthBomb

So.Not.True. Done. End of sentence.

The most powerful thing I’ve been teaching on, which has resonated with every one of my clients thus far, is that  H O W  you eat will impact your health, weight, physical appearance, and mental state far more than         W H A T  you eat.

Sure, eating the standard American diet day in and day out might put you in an early grave. But for some people, they don’t have any other choice.

Resolve this by slowing down with food, not by clinging to the next fad diet.

Eating more slowly, paying attention to your meal, and chewing more thoroughly will increase your metabolism, lead to better nutrient absorption, and give you a surplus of natural energy without caffein or energy drinks (say goodbye to that 3pm slump!).

So, take heart. There is a solution and it doesn’t require you to starve, sacrifice, or sweat.

That’s not to say you won’t have to work hard!

If you’ve made it this far, I know that something I’ve said here has resonated with you. Let it all simmer for a while.

In the mean time, if you have any questions or would like to share your story or experience with me, just comment below or email me at SanaAnimaWellness@gmail.com. I’d love to hear from you! 💞

The power of your words can transform your Life

Be Impeccable with your Word

Use your powers for good, not evil, and watch your Life bloom 🌺

Science and Metaphysics have both made strong cases for thought work. Real people are Healing from severe sickness and disease by transforming their thoughts. But how do those thoughts impact you once they leave your lips?

It’s said that we have anywhere from 6,000 to 10,000 thoughts every single day. With about 86,000 seconds in a single day, that means every eight to 14 seconds you are having a thought about something. Most of those are unconscious and pass beneath your awareness, others are powerful enough to break through. Regardless of how your thoughts occur, they can impact you deeply on a physical, emotional, Spiritual, and Energetic level.

How it all begins

Your brain is filled with neurons that connect to all the different parts of your brain and body. Consider these neurons like little roadways for information to travel on. The more a roadway is used, the more reinforced it becomes.

In other words, as a newborn baby your roadways start out like dirt trails. As information becomes reinforced, and you grow and learn, those dirt trails eventually become paved runways. The dirt trails that are used a little less frequently might transform into well-defined paths; they are safe to use, but not used frequently. The dirt trails that are used often will look more like paved runways. They are solid, sturdy, large, and ready to receive and transmit any passing information.

When thoughts occur, whether in your awareness or subconscious, they can come through on a dirt trail, well-defined path, or paved runway. The Law of Attraction tells us that like attracts like. This means that the more you experience a thought, the more likely you are to continue experiencing similar thoughts. The more often similar thoughts occur, the more well-defined that neural path will become.

Eventually the dirt trail for, say, positive thoughts about Self will grow and edify into paved runways, and it will become natural to have positive thoughts about Self. Similarly, the more often you have negative or detrimental thoughts, the stronger that neural path will become until it is natural, even easy, for negative and detrimental thoughts to push through to your awareness.

Thoughts are just words waiting to happen

Ghandi said it better than anyone with this:

Your beliefs become your thoughts; Your thoughts become your words; Your words become your actions; Your actions become your habits; Your habits become your values; Your values become your destiny.

Your word is filled with power. It consists of your spoken, written, and even nonverbal communication with yourself and the outside world.

Your intent manifests through your word. Your Creative power is expressed by your word. And your word is the power you have to create – Life, destiny, opportunity, support, action, and more.

Your word is a force of indescribable magnitude that serves to connect you to others through expression and communication. It shapes and creates every event in your Life.

Like a double-edged sword, your word can be used for good or for evil. You get to decide. When you begin to step outside of Ego and rewrite your internal script, so will you rewrite and rewire the thoughts and words you channel out into the world.

When you complain, curse, and think negative thoughts about yourself or others, you plant evil seeds of negativity into your fertile Mind. The seeds you plant are the seeds you will sow.

Do yourself, and everyone you encounter, a favor and plant beautiful, hearty, healthy seeds of Light. Begin by noticing your thoughts and thought patterns, and transforming them one at a time.

Rewriting Your Agreements

It’s time to ditch the beliefs you’ve inherited that no longer align with who you are or who you’re trying to become.

In his book, The Four Agreements, don Miguel Ángel Ruîz gives readers four simple (but not always easy) steps to break free from the cycle of negativity, drama, and pain. If you are ready to raise your vibration and begin attracting harmony into your Life, then you’ll want to keep reading!

From the minute you were born, you were exposed to a whole world of people who wanted you to believe what they believe. What they thought was right or wrong, good or bad, honest or dishonest is what you were expected to internalize.

Many of these “rules” were passed from generation to generation through beliefs and behaviors. Some are unspoken, others are verbally transmitted by your authority figures or taught in institutions that are meant to shape you.

Maybe they are personal or familial beliefs, religious beliefs, cultural beliefs, or niche beliefs. Regardless, you make a choice to agree with these beliefs. At first, in your childhood, you don’t believe you have a choice. So you do what is expected and you internalize the belief as your own. You make an agreement with the transmitter of the belief that you, too, believe.

You make agreements about what to believe with every person in your Life. As you grow and evolve, take in new experiences and expand your thoughts, you continue to operate on those old agreements and belief systems that you internalized in your youth.

It’s time you rewrite your agreements so that they align with who you are, and who you are trying to become.

Where to begin such an endeavor

According to ancient Toltec wisdom, there are four areas in your Life that you should begin rewriting agreements in. These are: your word, your perspective, your judgements, and your ability.

Letting go of agreements that no longer serve you will free you from drama and negativity. Adopting new agreements will increase your quality of Life.

This, in itself, is a tall order.

If you are struggling to know where to begin, try taking an overall assessment of your Life and point out any areas where you might be struggling. Whether in your relationships, with your health, inner harmony, job satisfaction, financial security, or otherwise. Do the inner work to recognize which agreements you hold in that area of your Life, and ask yourself whether you truly believe them or not. If not, time to rewrite!

This work is not easy, nor is it fun. But the outcome is where the beauty happens. When you begin to see your Life in full bloom because you are living more aligned, your blessings will multiply, opportunity will present itself, and you will find yourself riding on high. Take the leap and enjoy the ride, you won’t regret it!

Finding motivation in a sea of excuses

Tap in to get on your path and you’ll no longer find excuses as helpful or necessary.

It’s nothing to feel ashamed of and something everyone does – make excuses. If you find yourself struggling to commit, feeling like you are lacking in joy, or having trouble making meaningful relationships, this is for you.

Even the best of us makes excuses from time to time (😳 … or all the time). When motivation and morale are low, eh, why bother? You could be living in a sea of excuses and not even know it. Surely, though, you are feeling the effects in different areas of your Life, and that’s why you are here.

The WHY of it all

Why do we make excuses in the first place? What’s the point? Well, there are lots of reasons. Some people make excuses to deflect blame and avoid taking responsibility. This looks like, “I didn’t realize this project was due on Monday because Mr. X never informed me.”

Others make excuses because they are too afraid to speak their truth and be honest with themself (or others). This looks like, “I’m so sorry I haven’t gotten back to you in forever. I’ve been so swamped!”

These are both quite common generators of excuses, and many folks probably don’t even realize what’s happening behind their words.

A more common reason for excuse making is a lack of motivation or inspiration. Maybe you’re ‘just not feeling it’, only, you’re never feeling it. It is easy to fall out if motivation and inspiration when you are feeling unfulfilled in Life, when your chakras are muddied, or when you are off your Divine path. This looks like, “Yeah, I’m just going to stay in again and watch a movie, maybe order in some pizza.”

And finally, a serious and subconscious root of excuses is that you are feeling low, rejected, or apathetic. This may be an indicator that there is something deeper going on within you, and it’s worth it to get yourself checked out by a professional if necessary. This looks like, “I can’t, I have to tie my shoelaces.”

Whatever type of excuse-maker you are, surely there are repercussions that will make themselves known across your Life.

So, how do you slide off the production line and get back on track? Let’s find out!

A simple plan

Well, let’s say simple in theory, but this will definitely take some work on your part.

If you are sick and tired of feeling unfulfilled, lonely, troubled in your relationships, as if you are unimportant, bored in Life, unmotivated, and uninspired, then it is time to pivot.

The first step is to take your attention inward and realize when you are making excuses. Be on the lookout for patterns.

Step two is to be completely honest with yourself. Do you fall into one of the above mentioned categories of excuse generators? If not, what type of excuse-maker are you?

In step three is where the real action is. It is your duty to yourself and the people you care about to rewrite your script. This is hard work, but you have a small arsenal of tools here to help you do that.

And finally, step four. In step four you will implement change. It might be like a shock to the system, or even shocking to what remains of your social Life, but it is absolutely necessary. Nothing changes if nothing changes.

During this process of evolution you are about to take, you will need to learn to recognize your root causes as they come up for you. This is not always easy, especially in our world of constant distractions. It will be crucial for you to have quiet time to decompress and disconnect at least once every day, and that is where the magic happens.

In those moments of quiet is where you will grow in inspiration and unlock Creative solutions to your everyday problems. This is where you will connect with the Divine Source and be filled up with Light. During this time you will begin noticing your patterns of Self-destruction, and which tools in your tool belt to use to help your Self to grow.

As you take each of these steps toward Healing, you will grow in motivation, inspiration, and you will feel lighter. Your Life will begin to look and feel different as those around you witness your transformation. You will no longer find excuse-making to be helpful or aligned with who you are becoming, because you are Journeying on your destined path.

Go out into the world and be the Light, my friend!

Making Goals That Stick

Throw out everything you’ve ever been taught about goal setting

Now, more than ever, it is imperative to use awareness, consciousness, and Soul intention when planning for your future. It is never too late to begin considering your intentions for tomorrow.

It is safe to say that we’ve been thrown a doozie over the last few of years. Many folks are still trying to find their sea legs – you know, two steps forward, ten steps back.

It’s said that the average person ditches their New Year Resolutions by Valentine’s Day every year. How discouraging! That’s enough to make you want to just throw in the towel on goal setting, period. But don’t despair. Read on for some not widely known tools for creating and setting intentions for today, tomorrow, or even your five year plan.

Making Goals that stick

It is common knowledge that goal setting should follow a sort of formula, per se, for it to be successful. One such formula is creating SMART goals – Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Time measurable goals. There are other formulas, detailed outlines, list-making techniques, and customizable plans for you to follow just to ensure successful goal setting.

🤢 So rigid!

Sure, these formulas can be successful for some. But what about the rest of us who do not ascribe to fixed rules or structure? If you are here, reading this, then you probably think outside the box; it’s likely that you appreciate your freedom, and that you live Creatively.

That said, following a flow chart for goal setting definitely should not be where you begin your Journey.

High vibe goal setting

As an elevated Soul, thinking, living, and being “inside the box” probably doesn’t generate results you can be satisfied with.

For people like you and I, the first step in making goals that stick is to learn how to be still. That might be hard since we live in a society that glamorizes working hard and fast. The saying goes that if every minute of your time is not accounted for, then you are wasting time.

Learning how to sit still and listen within for your higher Self to guide you is an imperative first step for many things in Life.

Slowing down long enough to tap in to your higher Self is a little like running a marathon.

It takes lots of training that you build upon daily, some fine tuning of form and technique, and rock solid faith in yourself that you are capable of enduring.

Your ability to focus, drown out all the noise, and turn inward are your strengths. With daily exercise it will become easier, simpler, and more natural for you to tap in. That, my friend, will almost always get you to where you want to go.

The second step is to change the label. Words have power. The human brain is wired to do tricky things, but most predominant is our innate need to protect ourself. In the case of goal setting, there could be internalized Ego scripts getting in the way of your success.

Changing how you write, think, and talk about your goals is one way to bypass Ego and create new neural pathways. Defining neural pathways through repetition is the quickest way to rewrite your Ego script.

Begin by making a list of alternate words for “goals”, and see what resonates with you. Choose the word and begin using it in thought, conversation, and on paper.

Step three is all about how you set your intentions. You want to veer from listing unrealistic tasks that you will likely never accomplish. This is where the practice of being still and turning within to your higher Self is crucial. Tap in to see where you (or your Life) needs development, and begin there.

When you are on the right path, all of the pieces will fall into place naturally and seamlessly.

In this final step, step four, you will decide how you will succeed. Consider choosing one goal per week, per month, or per quarter, or maybe five realistic goals for the year.

If you like a little structure, give yourself a time line – but be realistic. If you prefer accountability, share your intentions with a friend, on social media, or with your mentor.

Whatever method you choose, step four is where you will see your results.

It’s never too early to begin thinking about how you can do and be better. If you are not shape-shifting, then you are stagnating. Don’t wait for Monday, next month, or even the New Year – begin implementing these steps today. Because, remember, who you become tomorrow is entirely based on who you choose to be today.

Go out into the world and spread Light, my friend!

How thin is too thin?

We are not talking weight here 🤭

Welcome!

Thank you for joining me for another segment on the journey towards healing. I’m Rita, and I am a Healer and a teacher. It’s my calling to help people evolve, elevate and expand their thinking. I help people to heal through natural modalities that fall outside of traditional medicine. That’s exactly what you will find here, so I hope you’ll stay!

Personal boundaries, Energetic boundaries, firm, loose, somewhere in between. Enforcing healthy boundaries is essential for healing, growth, and expansion. If you are tired of the struggle with relationships, your health, job, or psyche, it is prudent that you complete an evaluation of the important areas in your Life and pick one place to begin course-correcting your boundaries.

How thin is too thin?

We are deep into what’s been termed hustle society. This is a time when our collective culture has reinforced the idea that you are nothing, and nobody, unless you are hustling. A dictionary definition of the word hustle plainly (and repetitively) states that the word means obtained with force, hurriedly, unceremoniously, roughly, and through persuasion.

Ask yourself if that’s the type of Energy you want to cultivate in your growth Journey. If not, then this is for you.

Who are you trying to impress?

Often, there is a societal pressure to perform at peak levels all the time. As you know, this is reinforced with social media, which is spiraling out of control. It is not uncommon to scroll your feed as a time-out in your day, only to be bombarded with ads convincing you to better yourself with some $3k program or product. It’s enough to make you feel deflated, as if you are doing something wrong, or not doing enough.

It is in these moments that you should take a look at your personal and Energetic boundaries with yourself. Ask yourself who you are trying to impress with another certification or more things. Every time you click and pay, you are reinforcing that hustle society; you are sending the message to the sender that you are not enough, and with their help, you can become better.

You ARE enough. When you uphold firm, but flexible, boundaries with yourself, you are better able to say “no” when necessary. You are more likely to be aligned with your thoughts, words, and behaviors – this is to say that you will think, say, and do things that align with your core values and who you are trying to be or become. You will also become more aware of your Energy body, and who/what are the Energy drainers or Life-givers in your Life. Having healthy Energy boundaries requires you to learn your body’s personal signals before you hit depletion.

Recharging your internal battery

Every person has an internal battery, so to speak. When you rise every morning, it’s assumed that your batter is full. Depending on your quality of sleep, what you consume (food, media, literature), your thoughts and words, and interactions with others, the levels of juice in your battery will fluctuate.

Your internal battery is actually your Energetic body. Throughout your day, your Energy body will absorb, or take on, as much muck as you allow it to. It is your duty to be conscious and aware of your own Energy stores, to release the muck and restore it with Light Energy. This is the ultimate form of recharging your battery and will help you live a fuller Life.

Are you familiar with feeling spread too thin? It’s when your internal battery is in the red zone, or when your Energetic body is too muddied, that you might begin to feel imbalanced. Maybe you are consumed by your overwhelm, not sleeping well, making poor food choices, or feeling “stuck” in a cycle of thought rumination.

Hustle society, and all of the feelings it produces, are great contributors to feeling spread too thin.

You might fill your days, keep busy with work, have a full social calendar, or have a false sense of Self-care, all in the name of restoring your internal battery. In fact, much of these activities are denial and distractions. It’s those feelings of inadequacy perpetuated by the outside world that make you feel like a tragedy on the inside.

Eventually the façade will crumble and fall. If you are not releasing harmful Energy, and cultivating and restoring Light Energy, your Soul will know it, and your body will respond with sickness, disease, or imbalance. You might take a mental or emotional spiral downward into anxiety (worry) or depression (apathy). Or, you may go in the opposite direction and spread yourself too thin.

It is your duty to learn about the signals your body sends you to make you aware of impending trouble. These will be different for every person. You may experience unusual dreams, physical symptoms, cyclical or ruminating thoughts, or something else altogether. Once you become aware of your personal signals, you can stop Energetic depletion in its path.

Cultivating Light Energy

An easy step to keeping your Energy body in tip-top shape is to have healthy boundaries.

There are many paths to healing, just ask any medical doctor, therapist, priest, or shaman. But you need not make any appointments or spend loads of money to begin your own healing Journey. I have been sharing extensively about Creativity as a tool for healing. Today I am offering you another tool, so read on and let’s find a modality that works for you!

Boundaries.

Firm, loose, somewhere in between.

We all have them, and of varying strength and degrees with ourselves and the people in our Life.

Sometimes you are ‘too nice’ or ‘too forgiving’ with the ones you love, and too rigid with acquaintances or colleagues. As an act of Self-preservation and to assuage the Ego, you keep looser boundaries with the people you feel closer to. In fact, it’s the ones you love that can take advantage of, and hurt, you the most.

In order to preserve a healthy Energy body, release dark or harmful Energy, and cultivate Light Energy, you must enforce healthy boundaries.

It starts with YOU

Have you ever taken a close look at the boundaries you have with yourself? If so, when was the last time?

It’s said that a plane is off course 90 percent of the time. That means the pilot(s) are constantly course-correcting. Have you a need to do some course-correcting of your own when it comes to your boundaries?

If you have not taken a closer look at your own personal boundaries, now would be a great time. Take a broad look at your overall Life – happiness, well being, health, relationships, eating patterns, and more. Pick one place that feels off course and begin there.

Take a deep dive into that personal arena of your Life and see where your boundaries might be lacking, too loose, or too firm. Make the necessary adjustments, then move on to the next arena in your Life. Remember, people who are not respectful of your boundaries are Energy drainers, so beware.

Exploring Energy Boundaries

Just as you have personal boundaries with yourself and the people in your Life, so should you have Energy boundaries. Energetic boundaries are those that protect your Energy body from getting muddied with other people’s drama. When your Energetic body absorbs too much dark energy from others, it can manifest as a feeling of heaviness, imbalances, sleep disturbances, brain fog, mystery pains, and more.

Energetic boundaries are meant to act like a forcefield surrounding you. They protect you from taking on the emotional catastrophes of the people around you – whether they be in close physical proximity or even electronically distant.

Energetically, people can be categorized into two categories: Energy drainers and Life givers. When you maintain firm, but flexible, Energetic boundaries, you begin to repel Energy drainers. It will become very apparent to you who the vortexes in your Life are – those that suck your Energy, leaving you feeling physically drained or lethargic, emotional or emotionally imbalanced, or in an activated stress state.

As you begin to cultivate healthy Energy boundaries you will restore yourself with Light Energy and draw toward you the people who are Life givers. Those are the people who are loving and kind, supportive and encouraging. The people who bring out the best in you, and who make you want to continue bettering yourself.

As the ultimate act of Self-care and Self love, take a deep dive into your personal and Energy boundaries. Do some course-correcting until you feel you have it just right for who you are today. Don’t forget to continue checking in and recalibrating as necessary as you continue on your growth Journey.

Until next time,

How Creativity helps you grow

Creativity is stored in the Right Brain

Engaging your Creative right-brain will help you unlock your full potential for growth

We are getting deep into Creativity as a vehicle for insight, change, inspiration, and personal evolution. If you would like to see where we started, check out my 12 Steps to living a more Creative, higher quality Life here

How Creativity helps you grow

Life is hard – there is no denying that. In order to navigate Life and make it through the good, the bad, and the ugly, it is imperative that you evolve. But making the inward Journey and clearing out all the shadows in your closet is no fun and definitely not easy. It’s no understatement to say that ignorance is bliss.

However, there are so many tools out there to help you in your growth, and Creativity is just one of them. Creativity, in the sense that it is used in this space, refers to any creative thought or action. This can mean everyday problem solving, magnificent works of art, or creative solutions in your own personal growth Journey.

Our world has become one in which instant access has disabled the part of the brain that was designed to think outside of the box. While small subsets are making strides in creative output (the engineers and designers at Apple, for instance), others are in the dark ages of creativity (the film industry).

Creativity is like a muscle that must be exercised regularly to become strong and efficient. Using that part of your brain to find unique solutions will help to increase confidence, inspiration, and Self-worth. Increasing these intrinsic values in one’s Self will bring down stress and increase quality of Life.

Caring for your Energy body through Creativity

Just as you lovingly nurture a child through imagination and play, so must you nurture that same part of yourself. Without tender love, care, and attention, your Inner Child can feel neglected, which ultimately can lead to a downward emotional and physical spiral.

Creativity, in all its forms, is a direct outlet for Energy. When stress builds, Self-care is lacking, and toxins are building up physically and energetically, it’s easy for Energy to become stagnant or blocked. Energy is meant to be in constant movement, and when its flow stops there are many visible consequences.

Blocked Energy can manifest as discontent or unhappiness, without any obvious cause; on a deeper level, depression and anxiety; and physically, stagnant Energy looks like mysterious aches or pains with no known cause, dis-ease and disease, rapid weight gain or weight loss, headaches, and more.

Keeping that flow of Energy in movement as often as possible will keep you feeling lighter, energized, and more vibrant about Life.

There is strong scientific evidence that memories are stored in our visual right-brain, right along with our subconscious and unconscious Minds.  The left-brain, home to such things as analytics, logistics, and language, is also home to our conscious Mind.

Therefore, by engaging your right-brain through Creative acts, you are also accessing those often untouchable and inaccessible thoughts, feelings, and memories stored in your unconscious and subconscious Minds.

When you engage your Creative Self and unlock some of those deeply buried emotions and experiences, you are gaining a deeper level of understanding of your Self. It is through the process of creating, or Creative problem solving, that healing can take place. This is a wonderful opportunity for growth and insight!

So, keep on breaking boundaries of thought and experience by exercising your Creative muscles. You won’t regret it!

Why Creativity is so effective

Creativity is a vehicle for understanding your Self on a deeper level. It is one of the greatest tools for growth that you can employ anytime, anywhere.

We are getting deep into Creativity as a vehicle for insight, change, inspiration, and personal evolution. If you would like to see where we started, check out my 12 Steps to living a more Creative, higher quality Life here

When I tell people about my work and they hear that I am all about incorporating Creativity as a vehicle for change, most people jump to Self-deprecation from the start: “I’m not good at art,” “I don’t have a creative bone in me,” “I still draw stick figures,” and so on.

However, in my use of Creativity as a modality for healing, I am not just referencing visual art forms. Creative thinking should not be limited to only that which you can produce and see.

Creativity is a vehicle for understanding one’s Self; a tool for reflection and projection, stimulation and growth, expansion and evolution.

In science and academia, the jury is still out on whether everyone is built with an innate creativity, or whether it’s a rare gift that only some are born with. I believe that every person is born with some level of creativity, and like all things, it requires love and nurture to flourish. As they say, ‘use it, or lose it’!

Supporting your Creative Energy can become easier with time and practice if you can remain mindful of some of the following:

1. Have a permissive attitude – Creativity flourishes where there are no judgments, preconceptions, or biases.

2. Lack fear or concern about what others might think – Creativity flourishes when you have an inner sense of knowing what is right for yourself, not when you rely on praises or judgments from others.

3. Let go of Self-criticism – Creativity flourishes when you let go of the inner voices that prevent you from growing. Instead, allow yourself the freedom to experiment and explore who you want to become.

4. Accept that there is no right or wrong answer – Creativity flourishes when you set aside rules and treat your perceived errors with respect, because out of these often come new insights.

5. Develop an intention and a passion – Creativity flourishes when you work intently and passionately at something. As the flow of Creative Energy becomes unblocked, it will feel more natural to trust that things will unfold exactly as they should. Commit to the process of judgement free curiosity and enjoy the Journey!

Step 12: Have Faith

I couldn't accept God's gift

Take yourself lightly, and learn how to play!

Welcome!

Thank you for joining me on this 12-step journey towards increasing your Creative flow and reducing stress.

I’m Rita, and I am a Healer and a teacher. It’s my calling to help people evolve, elevate and expand their thinking. I help people to heal through natural modalities that fall outside of traditional medicine. That’s exactly what you will find here, so I hope you’ll stay!

This is the final step in the series 12 Steps to a More Creative and Stress-free Life, but the Journey is far from over! If you would like to revisit the first 11 steps, you can visit the archives here.

Have Faith

This is not a calling to religion or spirituality, but rather, an opportunity to grow and expand.

Having Faith requires that you give up control. Faith asks you to trust and believe that everything will work itself out for your greater good, even though it may not appear so in the beginning.

This can be quite frightening for many folks, especially if you’ve lived a lifetime of needing to be in control of every aspect of your (or someone else’s) Life.

Resisting Faith can, and often does, lead to exhaustion of your Energy sources. Feeling like everything that happens to you, around you, and to those close to you is somehow within your control is a sure fire way to burnout quickly. It can leave you feeling defeated, physically and emotionally exhausted, and can even lead to sickness and disease.

Resistance is a form of Self-destruction – like road blocks you put in your own path. In order to maintain the illusion of control, the Ego constructs these road blocks. The role of Ego is Self-preservation; its job is to keep you believing you are (or will be) safe at any and all costs, and it will concoct whatever illusions it must to get you there.

Depression, anger, and anxiety are all forms of resistance. They create dis-ease, manifesting themselves as sluggishness, confusion, irritability, fear, and agitation. However, you do not have to be bound to these experiences, rendering yourself helpless or lost in them.

The Universe will always support affirmative action; this means you have to actually do something to elicit a response you can see.

Once you trigger an internal YES! by affirming your truest goals and desires, the Universe mirrors that YES! and expands it. Only then can doors open where there were no doors before.

Include hobbies as part of your Self-care

The experience of Creative living, and living creatively, argues that hobbies are essential to the joy of Life.

When you engage in hobbies you truly enjoy – whether they be athletic, creative in nature, or as simple as quiet time to decompress – you help to move that stagnant energy that is blocking your flow of Creativity.

Creativity, as used in these 12 steps, can be anything from Creative solutions to everyday problems, to magical works of art. You get to decide.

When that stagnant energy begins to move, you create a clear space for new Light energy to flow through. Once Light energy is flowing, you are better able to tap into the innate stream of Creativity that flows just beneath the surface of every person in existence on this earth.

As you serve your hobby, you become freed from your Ego’s demands and allow the experience of merging with a greater source. This is where Faith comes into play. Scaling back on your need to control every outcome in and around your Life allows you to increase in your trust that everything will work itself out as it is supposed to, for your greater purpose.

These are the experiences that guide you on your personal Journey toward growth, expansion, and evolvement. Get serious about taking yourself lightly, and work at learning to play.

Step 11: Find value from within

Looking for Self-worth from outside is like expecting somebody else to breathe for you

In the past few weeks I have shared 10 actionable steps you can take to reduce stress and increase Creativity, thereby boosting your quality of Life. Your task has been to take in the information and apply it in your day-to-day. Have you been challenged?

With just two steps to go, the finish line is in sight. Let’s get to it then!

Find value from within

Think back to a time when you’ve completed a project or task that was difficult, overwhelming, or emotionally burdening you. Upon completion, you likely had a sense of accomplishment, maybe you were glowing within or felt deep feelings of relief or joy.

Now recall whether those soaring emotions were dampened by a “wet blanket”, or someone who stole your thunder. That must have been pretty deflating and discouraging!

People who don’t support, energize, or encourage your growth are straight up wet blankets. They put out your fire of passion, knock you down when you are high, and create dissension and dis-ease.

These people are energy blockers in the physical form, and they will stifle your flow of Creativity and keep you in an activated stress state. Do not expect them to help or support you in your growth Journey.

External vs. internal Self-worth

Just as it sounds, with external Self-worth your sense of value and worth come from outside of yourself. For example, love, respect, and care for yourself that are based solely on material gains or adoration from others.

Examples that provide external value can include sex, drugs or alcohol, food, people pleasing, perfectionism and accomplishments, and physical attractiveness.

Internal Self-worth, on the other hand, is when your sense of value and worth come from within. Your internal value comes from doing the hard work of examining your Self and clearing the shadows out of your closet, so to speak.

Examples that provide internal value can include standing up for yourself, advocating for yourself or someone else, working through a difficult project or situation, and responding to a situation outside of Ego.

Just as we learn to let others determine our value, so must we unlearn this harmful thought process. Take a moment to look at the patterns of how you love, care, and respect yourself. Find one place where you might be relying on external validation and actively work towards inner validation.

There is a connection between Self-nurturing, Self-worth, and Self-respect.

If you can learn to respect your Self more, you will want to take better care of yourself, and in turn, will find your value and worth from within rather than without.

Similarly, if you nurture your Self a little every now and then, you will inevitably grow to respect yourself more and the result is higher feelings of Self-worth.

Incorporating these 11 steps (and the soon coming 12th step) into your daily, weekly, and/or monthly routines of Self-care are one sure fire way of getting the ball rolling.

Some other tools include: exercise; meditation; prayer; disconnecting from electronics for extended periods of time; reading a book; utilizing essential oils, Earth crystals and gemstones; taking a hot bubble bath; getting a facial, manicure, or pedicure; journaling; taking a weekend retreat; walking in Nature; changing your diet; and surrounding yourself with love and people who uplift you.

Step 10: Learn to trust your Self

Let your Body and Intuition be your guides

Today, in Step 10, you will begin learning some tools to help you learn how to tap in to that inner intuition so you can begin exercising those Self-trust muscles.

Like building muscle, it takes a little bit of work over a long period of time.

Self-care is not easy to maintain, but it sure is easy to neglect! As we near the end of our Creative Journey I encourage you to short-hand these steps and keep them nearby where you can see them daily. Tackle one at a time, in your own time, and remember to be graceful with yourself.

The opposite of Trust is resistance

Once the fog has cleared and you begin to get a clear sense of who you are and what you are doing, the Creative Energy will flow freely and you will experience no strain. You’ll soon find your stress on a steep decline as you increase in space, peace, and joy.

When you resist what the Energy of the Universe is showing or giving you, or where it is trying to take you, your Energy will slow to a halt and become blocked. This will manifest in many ways in the short- and long-term. You may experience a shaky, out-of-control feeling; anxiety or depression; physical symptoms such as headache, stomach ache, lethargy, and more.

Your immediate response might be to shut down the flow of this Creative Energy to regain a sense of control. In other words, you may slam on the psychic brakes, putting your creative output at a complete standstill. The purpose of all this shutting down is to alleviate fear. This is the Ego response for Self-preservation.

Rather than turning to workaholism, food, sweets, alcohol, or other excuses to alleviate these fears (in the form of palpable symptoms), simply try trusting your intuition and your desire.

Easier said than done.

The first step to alleviating these often mysterious symptoms that seemingly have zero connection to Life is to become aware. Awareness of Self, of thought, of body, of environment, and of Energy. Pick one as your starting place.

Because of the beautiful design of the body, your brain is wired to alert you to these Self-limiting fears before you even have a chance to cognitively register them. The key is to understand how to read your body’s unique signals, and to use those signals to help you in your Creative Journey toward healing.

Depending on your disposition, you can check in mentally or physically and employ some techniques that suit you well. Mentally you can engage in thought blocking, affirmations, positive reinforcement, or other mindset technique to help alleviate the fears and their accompanying symptoms.

If you are more sensitive to physical and sensory stimulation, you might consider checking in with your body. Learn to recognize the physical sensations you feel and connect them to the emotion(s) you are experiencing at that time. Notice the location and intensity of the sensations, and be honest with yourself about the emotion(s) you are experiencing in that moment.

Moving forward, when you begin to notice recurring sensations in your body you will more easily recognize your emotional or Energetic state. You can use these as signals for how to proceed in handling any situation.

Don't leak energy with nonsenseAdopt Life-giving practices

Checking in with yourself periodically throughout the day is crucial to your Energetic body. Think of your Energy as a battery. The more you expend on other people and their problems, or on worrying about … (what others might think of you, what you said in an old confrontation, or how you will be able to tackle the huge load in front of you), the less Energy you maintain for regular daily living.

As you begin adopting Life-giving practices for Self-care, your Energy will be in constant flow of motion. As you deplete some of your Energetic battery, you will in turn be recharging it through these practices.

Create a brief inventory to figure out which Life-giving practices resonate with you. It doesn’t need to be elaborate or fancy, but should be thorough and Creative; think deeply. Your inventory should include any persons, places, foods, activities, behaviors, items, or words that bring you peace. Think of selections that make you feel energized or help you achieve a state of flow.

Always be mindful of your Energy expenditure. Use Self-care techniques, such as the tools given over the course of these 12 steps, to replenish your Energy supply. When you find yourself in a situation that is mentally, physically, or emotionally draining for you, it is a sign that you are expending too much Energy. Scale it back some, and be sure to devote some time to recharging your battery.

Step 9: Recover your enthusiasm

Life your life full of energy

Put fear in its place by rediscovering what excites you!

Today, in Step 9, you will give your perspective a thorough checkup. If your perspective is not serving your goals for growth and expansion, then it’s time for a shift.

Find value in every single experience, all the time

You are 9 steps in. Are you committing to taking action to grow and learn along the way? Does your Energy feel lighter? Are you feeling more inspired, at peace, or renewed over these past weeks and months?

Energy is meant to be in motion at all times. When Energy gets stuck or stagnant, you lose your ability to think and perform creatively.

Creativity, as written about here, includes everyday problem solving, creative meal planning, stunning works of art, and everything in between.

A common occurrence is to recognize the changes you have made and the results they have produced, then to think the work is done. As you will recall, Energy must be in constant movement. So the moment you stop doing the work is the moment the flow of Energy and inspiration will begin slowing to a halt.

We often and incorrectly label this stagnation as laziness. It’s not laziness, it is fear, and it is a byproduct of having unrealistic expectations and impossible goals. Fear looks different for every person. You may have a fear of failure or a fear of success; a fear of abandonment or a fear of attachment; a fear of fat or a fear of change. Whatever it is that scares you, it is often characterized by the subconscious thought that if you are going to engage, it better be worth it. Is that a risk you’re willing to take?

These fears are often rooted in your childhood realities, but that does not mean you have to allow them to continue controlling your present. (Read here about abandoning old Ego scripts and exercising true Will in your Life.)

The key to controlling disabling fear is to A) recognize it as FEAR (False Evidence Appearing Real) and B) give yourself permission to begin small and move forward one baby step at a time.

Grace is a beautiful gift for both the sender and the receiver. When you show grace toward your Self it expedites expansion and growth; it’s like food for the Soul! Reward yourself for each achievement and celebrate every success, no matter how small.

Recover your enthusiasm

It is safe to gander that enthusiasm was once a part of who you were. As a child without a loud inner critic, Life is simple and it’s easy to play with reckless abandon. It’s likely that, if you are here, your enthusiasm has fizzled or died due to malnourishment.

What makes you giddy, happy, and squirm like a kid in a candy store? When you feel passionately about something, chances are you will be naturally good at it and you will be able to keep the Ego in check.

Discipline proves fruitless when you are not enthusiastic about your Creative experience. What better way to increase stress and decrease quality of Life than by trying really hard to perfect something you’re not emotionally engaging with.Similarly, if you reach for the moon and stars in your passion, you will often become overwhelmed by the great task of such lofty adventures.

Find your muse and the rest will follow. Start small, and keep your eye on the small picture for a while. It will serve you quite well.

Step 8: Accept that you’re never too …

… old, young, rich, poor, good, or lowly to begin your growth Journey

Today I am sharing with you Step 8, and it’s a real eye-opener – regardless of age, skill, IQ, or station in Life.

Tweaking your perspective will open up a whole new world for you

The grace to be a beginner is the best prayer for someone on a growth Journey. The humility and openness of being a beginner leads to exploration. Exploration leads to accomplishment, and all of it begins with the first small and scary step of beginning.

As a Self-saboteur, you love to pretend that you can never begin because it is too late.

A fearful person asks: Do you know how old I’ll be by the time I learn to (play the piano, cook/bake, drive a car, sing like Mariah)?

The answer is the same for all of us: The same age you will be if you don’t. And the caveat is that you will probably be much more unhappy or unfulfilled if you don’t.

Your Ego (there it is again!) plays tricks on you to keep you from getting started. Remember that the Ego’s psychological purpose is Self-preservation. So it will flex its muscles to prevent you from doing anything that could lead to pain, heartache, or failure.

However long it may take to progress from beginner to intermediate may seem like an eternity, or too much time to invest. Your Ego will have you believe that there are so many other more important things that you could spend your energy, time, and money on.

Instead of allowing yourself to begin a growth Journey, you instead focus on the length of the trip, inevitably, never taking it.

If you can remember that each day is one more day with some motion toward a very enjoyable goal, you are more likely to be flexible and graceful with yourself. And who knows, you may actually enjoy yourself along the way!

Little by little, inch by inch …

By the yard it’s hard, by the inch – what a cinch! Never stare up the stairs, just step up the step. Little by little, inch by inch.

Beginning just takes one small action, and getting overwhelmed by looking at the big picture will lead to shut down.

At the heart of starving yourself of growth and expansion, you also starve yourself of delight and process. Taking a Journey of growth, awareness, and evolution is not about achieving some great elevated state. It is about the process of getting there, thus the term Journey. Finding joy in at least some of the little, mundane experiences in your day-to-day will culminate into a big picture view for your future Self.

Live every moment as if it were your last. This is not to say you should act wild and crazy or go on dangerous adventures. Instead, if you were to pass in this very moment and come to your Life review, would you feel a sense of pride or joy in your experiences? Would you feel like you’ve finished enough of your business here on Earth?

If yes, then you are on the right track. Keep moving forward and course correct as necessary. If no, then maybe it’s time to begin some introspection. Go back to Steps 1-7 and see where there are some limitations holding you back, or where change needs to be made.

Until next time,

Step 7: Kick perfectionism to the curb

Perfectionism is not a quest to be the best, it is a pursuit of the worst in yourself.

As you cross the half-way mark in these 12-steps, it’s important to take a deep dive within and really see what is and isn’t working for you. Step 7 will do just that.

If it does not serve a purpose in your Life, let it go

True Joy comes from paying close attention

Creativity flows just under the surface, like a river, and if you are open minded and willing, that river of inspiration can be tapped into at any time.

The beauty in Creativity is just that – it is intrinsically linked to inspiration. Everybody wants and needs to feel inspired for any number of reasons. The key to finding what inspires you is to engage yourself Creatively.

Creativity as referred to here includes any form of creative engagement. Everything from everyday problem solving to creative parenting solutions to meal planning. Creativity can even be applied to budgeting, getting dressed for an occasion, and determining how to use your available time.

Creativity can be found in everything you say and do, and it is essential for the flow of Light Energy through you.

People who go looking for inspiration will often return empty and disappointed. For many, this experience is often followed with thoughts or statements like the following: What was I thinking? Who am I kidding anyway? I can’t (fill in the blank: cook, paint, dance, sing, write)! It’s silly; I need to prioritize, take care of myself (my family, my partner, my pet, my parent(s)), not fill my precious time with stupid things like (playing tennis, reading a book, learning a new language!

Sound familiar? That is your inner critic (see Step 1), otherwise known as Ego. Psychologically speaking, Ego’s primary function is to protect you. It is the parental figure in your thought process that prevents you from taking action on all of your curiosities, especially the absurd ones.

Although Ego has good intentions, it is the dominating force behind Self-sabotage. While it believes it is protecting you from harm or danger – all in the name of Self-preservation – it hasn’t gotten the memo that you no longer need certain protections.

The quality of one’s Life is always in proportion to the capacity for delight. The capacity for delight is the gift of paying attention.

As you grow and evolve, elevate your vibration and expand your thinking, your interaction with Ego must also change. It becomes your duty to cultivate Self-awareness. By paying close attention to Ego and his/her chattering, you will regain a sense of control and free will.

First you must acknowledge the rote behaviors that are triggered by Ego to protect you. Next you must ask yourself, What is this really about? What is this triggering for me, and why? When have I felt these feelings before? Last, it is your duty to choose to respond differently; to put Ego, and yourself, in check, so to speak.

How does perfectionism serve you?

It is perfectly acceptable to have bouts of perfectionism from time to time. There are Life situations that require the absolute best from you, and in those situations having an attitude of perfectionism can be a benefit.

However, if you are roomies with perfectionism, it is important to ask yourself what purpose it serves for you. How does it help you to live a happier, more fulfilling Life? How does perfectionism help you attain good overall health? If you can answer these questions honestly, that is a good indication where Ego change needs to happen.

Perfectionism, that cynical inner critic who judges every thought, every interaction, every production, is your own refusal to let yourself move ahead.

This is based in FEAR (False Evidence Appearing Real).

It is not a quest to be the best; in fact, it is a pursuit of the worst in yourself. The part that tells you that nothing you do will ever be good enough; that you should try again.

But let’s be real here, you know you won’t try again. Why set yourself up for another disappointment? Usually, when you say you can’t do something, what you mean is that you won’t do something unless you can guarantee that you will do it perfectly. Your Ego has succeeded once again!

If you can listen closely, you can hear your Ego nudging you towards Self-sabotage. If you can learn to recognize those negative patterns, you can stop them in their path to Self destruction. It is only then that you can begin tapping into the flowing river of Creativity, and inspiration will find you.

Step 6: Trust in your Spiritual Source

Whatever your beliefs about Spirituality are, Step 6 is sure to help you continue on your growth Journey.

Advocate for yourself by nourishing your Self, and Spirit will take care of the rest for you.

How many times have you limited yourself from really living Life and doing things that seem joyful because you feel you can’t afford it? Or you don’t have enough time? Maybe you are putting it off for a later date when your head is in the right place. Excuses are deal breakers for living a Life of joy.

Fear is just a prayer for what we don’t want

The truth is, if you could just spend a little money, a little time, a little energy on the things that bring you joy, your Spiritual Source will provide for you in bounty. In other words, when you take care of your Self, so too will your Spiritual Source.

Trust your Spiritual Source

Unfortunately, there is a societal belief that many have incorporated to be their own that equates difficulty with virtue. Difficulties build our Moral fibre, they say. Something that comes easily must be some sort of cheap trick and should not be taken seriously.

This is flawed thinking. Your Spiritual Source wants you to be happy, joyous, free, and to engage in the things that you are good at – whatever they may be. It’s when you transform this model for thinking and acting upon that goodness begins to flood your Life as you raise your vibration.

It’s common belief that committing to your own happiness comes with the hefty price tag of an empty wallet, pain, isolation, or otherwise, and it could never work out. It is just easier to stick with “what works”, even when it is not working for you. But this is not true.

Creative flow of Energy comes from your Spiritual Source, and that same Spiritual Source is fed by engaging in Creative acts of Love toward your Self and others.

If you could learn to trust your Spiritual Source, that (He, She, They, It) wants you to be Creative, joyous, and free, then you will find inspiration around every corner, free from the shackles of judgement and Self-criticism.

The often surprising bonus is that you will always find the financial means, time, energy, and resources to enjoy yourself!

Until next time,

Step 5: Learn to let go

🎶 ‘Breaking up is hard to do’ 🎶 but sometimes it’s absolutely necessary! Break up with beliefs that are no longer serving you

Step 5 will truly change your Life if you can even begin to tackle it. Let’s get started!

Learn to let go of Self-limiting beliefs

Change can be really hard. It puts you in a position to leave your comfort zone and venture into, sometimes, unknown territories. This fear of the unknown can keep you from a beautiful and varied Life, especially when it impacts your willingness to grow and evolve.

From the minute you breathe Life into your lungs, you are bombarded with messages from the environment around you. For example, structure and order in your day – before you are even aware that you are a living human being – gives you the message that events happen in a certain order and that Life can be predictable. This is important for a newborn and for well-adjusted development.

However, not all of the messages you take in, a majority of which are subconscious and unconscious, are as generous as a structured routine in your early days of Life.

Before the age of seven, your subconscious mind has set itself as the foundation for all of your future decisions and behaviors. That’s a lot of messages, in the form of stimuli, to take in. This is especially confounding because in the first seven years of Life you are still trying to make sense of the world and your place in it.

These messages become internalized on a subconscious and unconscious level, and become the foundation for your belief system. However, they are based on the sender’s own belief system, which came from generations prior. It is an endless lineage of belief systems and messages, both conscious and unconscious, that you take in to be your own.

For example, on a personal level you might believe that making a living by writing is not a fruitful career. That message likely came from someone close to you, maybe a parent or teacher. On a broader spectrum, you might believe that it is inappropriate to go into a grocery store without shoes on. This is more likely a belief that came to you via society.

Regardless of where the messages have come from, it is up to you to become aware of your beliefs and decide whether they truly align with your personal belief system (the beliefs you have chosen on your own). This requires of you some high level processing and in-depth work. Some may align, others will not. And that’s where I’m going here.

Let go of Self-limiting beliefs that are no longer serving you

Nurturing your Creative flow of Energy can be a very spiritual experience because, in doing so, you are also nurturing ties to your Spiritual Center. Disconnect from your Spiritual Center leads to fear, confusion, creative blocks, and more.

Your Spiritual Center is from where Creativity flows freely. Keep in mind that Creativity, in this sense, can mean everything from everyday problem solving to masterful works of art.

One way in which you might prevent yourself from living a more fulfilling Life is by holding on to the belief that your Spiritual Source dishes goods in limited proportions.

Have you ever found yourself thinking, “I don’t want my luck to run out.”, “I don’t want to jinx myself”, or even, “I’m afraid that something will go wring since things have been good for a while now.”?

Many folks often set limits on how much good they can receive, and when given in abundance, they will turn around and send some back in the form of negative thoughts and attitudes, or believing that they are undeserving.

These are Self-limiting belief systems and need to be corrected in order to reach new levels of vibrational healing and living. You must be willing to fully and truly believe that you deserve good in abundance, and only then will you open yourself to receiving all that is good.

You must learn to let go of the need to control where the sources of good in your Life comes from, and begin believing that your Spiritual Source wants and wills good for you in due time.

Part of the Journey to this acceptance occurs when you nurture your Self, and your Creative Self, by doing things that you love and enjoy.

Step 4: Become open to change

Step 4 is a truly difficult one. But because you’re here, I know you will do just fine!

Unleash your personal power, and open the floodgates of opportunity and success all around you

When you have found a way that works for you, it’s easy to keep on truckin’. Why change what isn’t broken?

An alternative perspective might be this: if nothing ever changes, then nothing ever changes.

Begin thinking differently

As you continue on your growth path toward greater Self understanding and opening your flows of energy, you will eventually find yourself thinking and feeling differently. Things that never bothered you before (helping Susan rearrange her living room in place of your own Self-care) will now seem like unreasonable requests.

Be open to these changes! Others around you may not like or appreciate these changes, but they are for the betterment of your Self, and therefore, the betterment of everyone around you.

Those who are genuinely interested in your evolution and personal growth will support and encourage you rather than deflate you with their jealousy and negativity.

Embrace the change

Be honest with yourself and others about these changes you are experiencing. The people in your Life with poor boundaries might not like the new you, but anyone who truly and deeply cares for you will be delighted at your growth.

By embracing the changes within you, you begin to reclaim your personal power. When personal power becomes convoluted, shamed, or challenged, it leads to a direct blockage in energy flow.

In order to reduce your stress, increase your flow of Creative Energy, and raise your quality of Life, it’s crucial that you embody your personal power.

One way to do this is to say what you mean and mean what you say.

For example, if you have been wronged by someone, rather than say “it’s okay”, ask yourself whether it really is okay. If it isn’t, choose a different response to the infraction. One that will not demean you or allow others to penetrate your firm boundaries.

By establishing firm boundaries for your Self care, keeping a close eye on your perspective, and saying what you truly mean, you will accelerate your personal power and open new flows of Creative Energy in your Life. Watch as you begin to attract new opportunities, Love, and success into your Life!

Until next time,

Step 3: Accept criticism as beneficial

Today we will cover Step 3 to increase flow of Creative Energy and reduce stress for a higher quality of living.

Learn to spot an Ego script that is harmful and re-write the script

We live in a hyper-sensitive world right now, where one might not feel truly free to say, do, or be whom they want without receiving criticism, backlash, anger, or judgement.

In order to navigate such temperamental waters, it is crucial that you free yourself from your own criticism, backlash, anger, and judgement. These can be toward yourself or toward others.

Acknowledge and accept

You may not believe that you are critical, judgmental, angry, or otherwise. “What criticisms?” you might say.

They are there, buried deep down in your unconscious. They form the script from which your inner and outer dialogue stem; just a part of who you are when you are being authentically you.

The first step toward acknowledging and accepting criticism is to first recognize it within yourself.

In order to do this you must practice, practice, practice stepping outside of your Ego – the seat of internal parenting and Self-preservation – and re-write your script.

Take a moment to recognize the judgements, criticisms, anger, and backlash in your own words and behaviors that you have toward yourself and others. Then, take as long as you need to acknowledge the feelings and let them pass over you. This is a very different experience than stuffing them down (akin to switching the subject when you experience uncomfortable feelings).

It is common, and even OK, to feel angry with yourself for any number of reasons that may have contributed to feelings of powerlessness.

These feelings are meant to be acted upon, not acted out.

Dealing with criticisms

Criticisms are often Ego-driven and dished in an unhealthy manner, and are therefore received with a bad taste in the mouth.

Especially harmful criticisms are typically the result of a person acting straight from their internal script. This script is our own personal compilation of rules, admonishments, fears, and agreements that we stored up in our subconscious during the first seven years of Life.

As you begin to awaken, you will become more away of your inner dialogue and will begin to recognize when a criticism is coming from an Ego script and not meant to be helpful.

Find a place within yourself to accept it – however salty or bitter it may taste – rather than get defensive. This will help your Energy centers remain open and flowing with light energy, which will keep you feeling in balance and flow throughout your day.

The following are specifically chosen tools for dealing with criticisms during your Journey toward Self-rediscovery.

Write them down, post them where you can see them, and remember them:

  • Receive the criticism all the way through and get it over with.

  • Jot down notes to yourself on what concepts or phrases bother you.

  • Jot down notes on what concepts or phrases seem useful or could be useful to you in the future.

  • Do something very nurturing for yourself – for example, recall a compliment or praise, take a few deep breaths, or step outside for a few minutes.

  • Remember that even if you have made a truly rotten mistake, the criticism may be a necessary stepping-stone to get you to the next level in your Life.

  • Take a moment to examine the criticism. Does it remind you of any criticism from your past – particularly a shaming childhood criticism? Acknowledge to yourself that the current criticism is triggering grief over a long-standing wound.

  • Write a letter to the critic – not to be sent, most probably. Defend your perspective and acknowledge what was helpful, if anything, in the criticism.

  • Get back on the horse. Make an immediate commitment to store the gleaned information and use it to help you the next time these feelings arise.

  • And most importantly, be kind and gracious with yourself.

If you can spend enough time recognizing within yourself your own judgements, criticisms, or anger, you are more likely to spot them in others. Once you begin to notice these behaviors in others, you will be able to apply what you have learned here to help you to evolve to the next level in your Life.

Step 2: Nurture your Self

Today I am sharing the second step in reducing stress and increasing Creative flow, to have a more Life-giving Energy and raise your quality of Life.

Keep away from the drama queens and skeptics; they will only drain your Energy

OK, so you’ve worked through some of your core negative beliefs and have reframed them into positive statements. As you continue to repeat those positive reframes (which will eventually become new beliefs), you will begin to notice changes within yourself.

This is what it feels like when your Energy centers begin to open up. You will start attracting positivity and good vibes into your Life. Notice when things happen, and don’t forget to celebrate every small success.

Stop putting others before yourself

In nurturing your Self, it is necessary to believe that you are worth your priority. When you don’t make yourself a priority, it’s easy to put everyone else’s needs before your own.

Stop putting others before yourself to a fault, and start setting aside real time to nurture your Inner Child.

In the first post introducing this segment, I mentioned that your Inner Child is the part of your Self that, so long ago, played with reckless abandon, freely, imaginatively, and surely without Self-judgement.

When you focus your time, attention, and responsibilities on others, you create blocks in the flow of your Creative Energy. Likewise, when your flow becomes blocked, you tend to put more emphasis on others than Self. Additionally, you likely believe such behavior makes you a “good” or highly decent person. It doesn’t; it only drains you further of your Energy and makes you extremely frustrated and burned out.

Get in touch with your Spirituality and stay away from drama

Creativity flourishes when you have a sense of safety and Self-acceptance. The key ingredient to freeing your Creative Energy lies in nurturing your Self. Through nurturing your Self, you nurture your ties to your Spiritual center, which is from where Creativity flows freely.

While trying to attain a sense of safety and Self-acceptance, it is important that you avoid being dragged down by those around you whose personalities create storm centers. These people are charismatic but out of control, long on problems and short on solutions. They like drama, attention, and are irresistible to we who love to “fix”.

If you are involved with someone (or more than one) who fits this description, it is important that you admit to yourself that this person will only prevent you from exploring and attaining freedom.

Skeptics, expert blamers, drama queens, disorganized, and destructive, these people will find every reason for you not to achieve safety and Self-acceptance. Keep them, and yourself, in check.

Step 1: Reframe negative beliefs

In the coming posts I will be sharing 12 actionable steps you can take to increase your quality of Life. Your task is to take in the information and apply it in your day-to-day. Are you willing to be challenged?

Break through barriers of fear and negative beliefs, which are partners in crime

Acknowledging your core negative beliefs is one of the hardest things you can do as you begin to grow and expand.

Beliefs are thoughts that we have on repeat. They are often subconscious and automatic, and most often we are unaware of them. However, our beliefs determine our behaviors, perceptions of the world around us, and interactions with others.

These are some commonly held negative beliefs. Please add to the list some of your own thoughts:

I can’t (quit my job that I hate, be less stressed, take time for myself) because:

Everyone will hate me.
I will hurt my friends and family.
I will abandon my friends and family.
I can’t spell / draw / paint / build / sculpt / act / sing / dance.
My ideas are not good enough.
It will upset my mother and/or father.
I will have to be alone.
I will have stupid ideas and not know it and look like a fool.
I will feel too angry.
I will never have / make any real money.
I will die of embarrassment.
I will feel bad because I don’t deserve to be successful.
It is too late / I am too old.

Creativity is the natural flow of Energy, and all of Life requires us to be Creative – in problem solving, in the handling and managing of relationships, as well as simple acts like cooking and baking.

The Creative Self is directly linked to the Inner Child. The Inner Child is that part of each of us that, many years ago, used to play with great imagination, freedom, and was free from Self-judgement.

Recovering this carefree state of Self requires slow and gentle baby steps. First, you must recognize that judgement comes from a place of fear and feelings of lack of control.

Self-judgement impacts us on a vibrational level. The Universe responds to our thoughts and feelings, and we are attracting what we put out.

In order to begin releasing yourself from Self-judgement, you must first be willing to let go; be silly, treat yourself to things, and admit that this will not be an easy or quick process.

Do these things freely and acknowledge any feelings of judgement that arise. Then, just like that, release them into the wind. It does take some practice in letting go, but as you cultivate feelings of freedom and control it will become easier and more natural.

Replace negative beliefs with positive alternatives

Once you’ve identified your core negative beliefs, spend some time writing down positive alternatives to them.

For example: I can’t have nice things because I grew up in a home where practicality was a necessity. If it’s not practical, I don’t truly need it and therefore shouldn’t have it.

Replace with: I will treat myself to these nice things because they are fun to experiment and play with, and having them brings me joy.

For example: I can’t build this business because it will fail and I’ll be discouraged and humiliated.

Replace with: I will adjust my expectations and start slow and steady to avoid failure.

Allow yourself to invest in clearing your Creative flow of Energy by breaking through barriers of fear and core negative beliefs, which are partners in crime.

Using positive affirmations to replace these negative thoughts and beliefs will help you achieve a sense of safety and hope.

Until next time,

12 Keys To A More Creative & Stress-Free Life

Clean up your energetic diet to allow creativity to flow, and watch your transformation unfold

Have you ever found yourself feeling stuck and unable to articulate why? Maybe you’ve called yourself lazy or a procrastinator because you are slacking on taking care of a pressing matter.

You are neither stuck, lazy, nor a procrastinator. What you might be is energetically blocked, and it’s leaving you feeling unfulfilled across many dimensions of your Life.

I hear people all the time say that they were born without the gene for creativity, or that they don’t have a creative bone in them. But Creativity is a natural flow of energy that we are all born with.

The action of being Creative is simply tapping into that flow of energy and using it to produce something – material or immaterial.

Creativity is often tied to the idea of creating works of art. It is either looked down upon as childish and simple, or beyond reach and for the select few with talent.

However, we can be Creative in our day-to-day lives in profound ways; in problem solving, in our thoughtfulness, or even in our interactions with others.

There are the many varied forms of junk food for the Soul

As we participate in Life and lose and find our way over and over again, we smother our flow of Creative energy.

Sugar, alcohol, drugs, over-work, under-play, bad relations, toxic sex, over stimulation, under-sleep, and so much more are junk food for the Soul. They taste mighty good in the moment, but can really mess with your ability to function.

Nothing changes, if nothing changes

If they way you’ve been living is no longer working for you, then you should seriously consider changing the way you’re living.

That sounds like a huge and overbearing feat – where do I begin in changing what’s not working for me? How do I even identify what it is that’s not working for me?

12 steps to a higher quality of Life

Over the course of the next 12 newsletters, I will share key changes that you can incorporate into your Life for a far more fulfilling journey. These 12 steps are aimed at helping you to look more closely within yourself, to identify the toxicity that is preventing you from moving forward and becoming your dream.

I encourage you to embark on a challenge of Self-discovery and Self-care with these 12 steps. Write them down, post them somewhere you can see them daily, and tackle one at a time.

Once you feel you have nearly mastered one step, move on to the next. If you are diligent, you will witness an amazing evolution within yourself that will propel you in a new direction!

If you exist, then you know that Life can be fast, difficult, uninspiring, and sometimes riddled with sickness, disease, or other complications.

But I truly believe that Healing is capable, and that the body was Divinely designed to heal itself, if given the chance.

In my articles you can expect a little bit of this and a little bit of that. However, one thing stands: each article will always contain educational and actionable resources for you to increase your quality of Life.

My approach to healing is simple – it is derived from ancient, eastern, and timeless modalities for healing that fall outside of the traditional medical model.

I believe that our modern society has rewritten the definition for nourishment far too many times, and that we’ve lost sight of what it truly means to be nourished.

Nourishment of the Mind, Body, and Soul through inner-dialogue, script re-writing, reduction of toxic load, and education will lead to a growth and expansion that people seek their entire lives.

You can receive this, and more, within this community.

What to expect:

I am mindful and respectful of each individual’s personal needs. While I utilize natural approaches to healing, each individual has a right to choose which modalities work for them.

What you read in my articles are to be integrated with common sense. If you are under the care of a physician or other medical professional, speak with your provider before beginning any new healing regimen.
